Tide’s Jahvon Quinerly Wins SEC Tournament MVP

Jahvon Quinerly was named SEC Tournament MVP after a weekend of dominating off the bench for the Crimson Tide. The transfer star showed why he was named a 5 star McDonald's All American coming out of high school. Quinerly finished the tournament averaging 15.6 points per game and 3 assists coming off the bench.

Quinerly started the first seven games for Alabama this season, but after a medical condition that sidelined him for a few weeks he had to change his role to sixth man of the team. He seemingly adjusted to this role with ease and swagger. Providing a mismatch with the opponents 2nd rotation, and gave his fellow 2nd team a boost that ultimately resulted in many wins.

After transferring from Villanova, many wondered how Quinerly would gel with his teammates from Alabama after sitting out an entire season due to the NCAA not allowing him to play. To say the least he has impacted his team in a major way. The fact he can come off the bench and provide a spark if the team is off to a slow start is huge. The depth of Alabama has stood out to many, and it starts with the tournament MVP.

The way he can shoot nearly 50% from three point range, along with blowing by opponents with his speed and ball handling is something to be proud of if you are an Alabama fan. The tide now turn their attention to the NCAA tournament where they will be entering uncharted territories for the first time in a while being one of the better teams in all of college basketball.
