A powerful winter storm system moving across the Southeast is beginning to make its presence felt in Alabama, prompting organizers to adjust plans as potentially hazardous conditions approach.

Forecasters have been tracking the system as it pushes east, bringing cold temperatures, rain, and the possibility of winter weather across parts of the state. With travel conditions expected to deteriorate in the coming days, several events are being postponed out of an abundance of caution  including the upcoming NED Town Hall.

Organizers announced that the NED Town Hall, originally scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, 2026, has been postponed due to the anticipated winter weather. Officials say the decision was made to prioritize the safety of attendees, staff, and the surrounding community.

The event has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 31, 2026, and will still take place at the Martin Campus Gymnasium. Doors will open at 10:00 a.m., with the program set to begin at 10:30 a.m.

Event organizers expressed appreciation for the public’s flexibility and understanding, noting they look forward to welcoming attendees back for a meaningful and engaging discussion once conditions improve.
