The GLOW-UP Leadership wants those that are experiencing homelessness to stay warm during the winter months. The organization is hosting “Sock Drive” to assist the homeless in West Alabama.

GLOW-UP was birthed in May 2021 by Marshae Madison-Pelt and her passion to “motivate and inspire others by focusing on youth development and community engagement.” Her mission is to educate and empower others to enhance their personal growth.

Pelt said she “desires to help women and the youth explore their emotions, develop self-awareness, boost self-esteem and build self-appreciation.” The SOCK DRIVE was initiated after a cold winter’s day. GLOW-UP believes that socks are a great “way to assist the students and families of local Homeless Shelters of West Alabama.” Also, this community service coincides with Dr. King’s Day of Service.
