Tuscaloosa, Stop Overpaying for Steaks
If it's one thing I hate, it's spending a lot of money on food. This Memorial Day Weekend, I didn't have to spend a lot and still had a great meal.
Have you ever wanted a great meal but didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for it? That's me on most days. I can admit, there are times where I'm out on vacation where I spend carelessly. Also, random days where I spoil my wife and tell her "Get whatever you want." Aside from that, I'm a very "stay below the budget" kind of guy.
Most times, the issue with that is you can't get a good quality, filling meal by being cheap. I proved that wrong this past weekend and I'm quite proud of myself.
I love to grill, and I was able to grill a nice simple meal without spending lots of money. I got a nice juicy steak sent to me from Walmart and I was so shocked at how great it was. The marbel on the meat was beautiful, the cut of meat was great and I didn't have to do much to make it taste great.
I fired up the grill and tossed my seasoned steak on the grill. Let me first say that dry rub is the best way to season your steak. I won't say a marinated steak is trash but I won't say it's not. What I will say is that I've recently learned that eating a well done steak is the worst way to eat it. It took me over 20 years but I've finally seen the promise land!
The steaks came out so good and was literally one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life. Nothing too fancy but everything I needed. It's really cool that you don't have to spend a lot of money at steakhouses and other places. All you have to do is go to Walmart and grab a steak by McClaren Farms. Go pick up a nice affordable steak and let me know how you like it.
