West Alabama Transportation Summit Set for Oct. 20
What’s next for the roads, infrastructure and transportation systems that keep West Alabama moving?
Local leaders will take a closer look at that question when the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama hosts its 2026 Transportation Summit on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Tuscaloosa River Market.
Presented by Thompson Engineering, the summit will run from 7:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. and bring business, community and government leaders together to discuss transportation priorities throughout the region.

As West Alabama continues to grow, transportation infrastructure plays a major role in everything from daily commutes and business development to attracting new investment and preparing communities for future growth.
The summit is designed to give attendees a better understanding of what is currently happening across the region and what could be coming next.
The program will include updates on current transportation projects, regional priorities and the factors that influence decisions about where and how transportation resources are invested.
Attendees will also hear perspectives on the partnerships and investments needed to continue improving West Alabama’s transportation infrastructure.
For members of the local business community, those conversations can be particularly important. Transportation projects can have a direct impact on where businesses locate, how easily employees and customers can reach them and how efficiently products move throughout the region.
The Transportation Summit gives local stakeholders an opportunity to hear directly about those issues while getting a broader picture of the infrastructure needs facing West Alabama.
Registration for the 2026 Transportation Summit is $50 for Chamber members and $70 for nonmembers.
The event will be held Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Tuscaloosa River Market.
Those interested in attending can register through the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama’s events page.
