The football program at Central High School is pumped and ready to spread its excitement for the upcoming season. A great way to display this enthusiasm to create school and community spirit is the 2nd Annual C-Day (Central Day).

The 2022 C-Day event will take place on Friday, August 12th at 5:00 p.m. at the football field of Central High School. Central alumni, elementary, middle, and high school Falcons and the community at large are invited to C-Day. The free event will also feature a “Fun Zone” for all children that will be filled with bounce houses, food trucks, face painting and craft tables.

“C-Day is a great way for us to reach back to our community," said Rodney Bivens, Central High's football coach. "It allows us to provide a fun family atmosphere as we introduce not only the Central High School Football team, but all of our feeder school's fall sports and coaches. We believe that it is better to give than receive. Therefore, this is one of many ways we participate in giving back to those who support our program.”

What is C-Day?

It is a free community event promoting and showcasing the CHS Cheerleaders, CHS Volleyball Team, CHS Girl’s Flag Football Team, CHS Marching Band, Westlawn Middle School’s Volleyball Team and Cheerleaders, Westside Raiders Little League Football Team, and the West Alabama Falcons. Also, attendees can enjoy the “Fun Zone” and scrimmage games.

Are You Ready for Some Football?

Central High School's Football Team will hold a “Fan Controlled” scrimmage where they will scrimmage against one another. Westlawn Middle School’s Football Team will also scrimmage against one another.

Community Support Plays a Vital Role

“Most everyone desires a strong support system. Football is one of the greatest team sports which takes numerous people on board to be successful," Bivens said. "Knowing that you have the support of your community gives the student-athletes something greater than themselves to play for. Community support fosters a tremendous amount of pride when you're playing for family, friends, and those who live within your community."
