The University of Alabama will host a virtual lecture featuring U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor Tuesday.

According to a Monday press release, Justice Sotomayor will take part in the School of Law's Albritton Lecture Series, where students and faculty will be able to ask questions and discuss the "judicial process by judges at the highest levels."

"The Albritton Lecture Series was established by Judge William Harold Albritton III and is supported by The Albritton Fund, created in the 1970s by the Albritton family of Andalusia, which includes four generations of Alabama Law graduates," the release said. "The lecture series has so far hosted 11 United States Supreme Court Justices and three foreign Chief Justices."

Justice Sotomayor has served on the Supreme Court since 2009 when she was appointed by President Barack Obama. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in 1976 from Princeton University and three years later, she received her Juris Doctor degree from Yale University.

The lecture is only available for UA law students, faculty and invited guests according to the release.
