Tuscaloosa residents who need to register to vote or update their voter information will have an opportunity to get assistance during a community event Tuesday.

WAWC Healthcare and the League of Women Voters of Greater Tuscaloosa are partnering to host a voter registration event Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. until noon.

The event will be held at 3073 Palisades Court in Tuscaloosa and will provide an opportunity for eligible residents to register to vote or make updates to their existing voter registration information.

The event comes ahead of Alabama’s Nov. 3, 2026, general election. According to the Alabama Secretary of State’s 2026 election calendar, the deadline to register to vote for the general election is Monday, Oct. 19.

Updating voter information can be important for residents who have moved or experienced other changes since they last registered. The Alabama Secretary of State’s Office says the same state voter registration application can be used both for new registrations and to update existing voter registration information.

Under Alabama requirements, a person registering to vote must be a U.S. citizen, live in Alabama and be at least 18 years old. State law also includes eligibility requirements involving certain felony convictions and court declarations of mental incompetence.

Those unable to attend Tuesday’s Tuscaloosa event can also register or update their information electronically through the Alabama Secretary of State’s voter registration system. Applications can also be submitted by mail or through a county Board of Registrars.

Tuesday’s event is being promoted under the message “Your Voice. Your Vote.” Organizers say the goal is to provide community members with an opportunity to make sure their voter information is current ahead of upcoming elections.

The registration event will run from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 3073 Palisades Court in Tuscaloosa.

More information about registering or updating a registration is available through the Alabama Secretary of State’s voter registration page.
