West Alabama residents will have the chance to attend the first ever sports tournament featuring 6 area schools.

Saturday, November 22 the very first Stampede Bowl will take place at the Bryant football field. The Stampede Bowl is a flag football tournament created to get certain schools together for one event.

"We wanted to have an eastern cluster event where we could bring all 6 schools together," said Dr. Dawson, Woodland Forrest Elementary Assistant Principal during a radio interview with 105.1 The Block.

The tournament will begin at 9am and the championship game scheduled to kickoff at 12:30p.

"We have the 4 elementary schools playing against each other in the morning we have Bryant marching band playing and Eastwood who's dance line will be dancing for us," said Dr. Dawson.

 

The schools participating in the Stampede Bowl are Arcadia Elementary, Woodland Forrest Elementary, Eastwood Middle, Southview Elementary, Bryant High, and Skyland Elementary.

"It’s so much going on in the world today so to have them be a part of this wonderful event and the awesome invitation to the radio station will be a moment they will remember for life," said Camisha Gipson whose son is a student a flag football player at Woodland Forrest.

"My son lives for sports and as a sports mom I’m pumped to see him in his element. I love what they are doing and am glad that we get to be apart of this first of many."

Tickets to the Stampede Bowl can be purchased at the gate of the event with cash or on GoFan.
