West Alabama Works (WAW) will host its second mobile job fair from Nov. 5 to Nov. 13 to help residents in Bibb, Fayette, Lamar and Pickens counties.

During the month of October, West Alabama Works dispatched mobile units in the Black Belt region, specifically Tuscaloosa, Greene, Hale, Sumter and Marengo counties.

"Our first tour in October focused on the Black Belt, and we were able to help many individuals apply for jobs and register for training. Being in the communities allows us to help more people in a grassroots way," WAW Black Belt Workforce Center Coordinator Tammi Holley said in a Monday press release.

Residents will set up a Career Connect profile that will help get their applications out to over 16 employers in the manufacturing, automotive, hospitality, healthcare and construction industries.

"Creating a Career Connect profile is not the same as completing a regular job application. Our team works with individuals to connect them to training opportunities, apprenticeships and jobs. It’s truly a people-centered approach," WAW Outreach and Program Manager Lauren Collier said in a press release.

All events will take place outside and residents are required to wear a face covering and follow social distancing guidelines. For more information, check out the West Alabama Works website here.
