“When They See Us” Star Jharrel Jerome Wins Emmy!

Jharrel Jerome wins an Emmy for Best Actor in a Limited Series for his portrayal of Korey Wise in Netflix series "When They See Us." His emotional acceptance speech earned him a standing ovation!

"When They See Us," was released on Netflix back in May and tells the heartbreaking story of five teenagers wrongly accused, and convicted of raping a jogger in Central Park. After 13 years of fighting, they were finally cleared of all charges and we now know them as the Exonerated Five: Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, and Korey Wise.

It's hard to imagine going through these events personally, but Jharrel Jerome, and his peers did an amazing job of bringing you into the Exonerated Five's world as they went through that horrible situation.

Congratulations once again to Jharrel Jerome on winning his first Emmy as it was well deserved!
