Will Anderson on Will Anderson: “Will, You’re Not Doing Enough”

Elite Crimson Tide edge rusher Will Anderson, Jr. sat down with The Game's Ryan Fowler at SEC Media Days on Tuesday and gave the fans plenty of reason to be excited for the Crimson Tide's upcoming season.

"I'm never satisfied with where I'm at, and the expectation I have for myself is always going to be bigger than what anybody else has for me," said Anderson regarding his ability to block out the outside praise, or as Coach Saban refers to it as, "rat poison."

It's hard to imagine how much higher Anderson's expectations for himself could possibly be. Last year Anderson finished the season with 17.5 sacks, the third most in a single season in Crimson Tide history, he is also fourth in career sacks with 24.5 sacks in two seasons. Many people in the college football world believe Anderson was snubbed from being a Heisman finalist last year.

Nevertheless, Anderson isn't satisfied, and is ready for more.

"They're telling me I'm good, and in my head I'm saying 'Will you're not doing enough you need to get better. You need to go achieve and go meet the standard that you need to meet" Anderson said.

As for the defense as a whole, Anderson professed to Fowler that their goal is to be the best unit in the country.

Anderson stated that "everybody has great experience, everybody knows what we need to do. I think we just cut down on those mental errors and we're gonna be a hell of a defense. To be the number one defense in the country, in the nation. That's our biggest goal."
