The Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team just concluded one of its best seasons in program history. The Crimson Tide won the SEC regular season and tournament championship. Alabama boasted the SEC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in Herb Jones and the Tide advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

With such history being made in Nate Oats' second year could it even be possible to expect more in the 2021-2 season?

Alabama will lose its three senior leaders, the aforementioned Jones, John Petty and Alex Reese. Additionally the Crimson Tide will lose graduate transfer Jordan Bruner, leaving four open spots for next year's roster.

Nate Oats has not only been winning on the court this season but he has been out recruiting for his program to keep it competing at a high level. Oats has currently signed the No. 17 recruiting class with his eyes on even more.

The top point guard in the nation, JD Davison is the No. 9 player in America and the top player in the state of Alabama. His presence highlights the class. He is joined by 4-star prospects Jusaun Holt and Langston Wilson, filling three of the four vacant spots.

Alabama has its eye on 5-star center Charles Bediako to round out the class and fill the final spot. He is expected to make his college decision at any point but the Crimson Tide appear to be the favorite.

Oats has shown in his short time in Tuscaloosa to make proficient use of the transfer portal as he brought in Jordan Bruner, Jahvon Quinerly and James Rojas by way of the portal.

The addition of Bediako would give Alabama a top-10 class and should Alabama find room for a transfer it would only enhance a team heading into the 2021 season.

On top of incoming new talent, the Crimson Tide will welcome back 6-foot-11 forward Alex Tchikou from injury. Tchikou suffered an Achilles injury at the beginning of the 2020 season.

Alabama basketball could be on the cusp of prolonged success with a second consecutive top recruiting class and Oats under contract through 2027.
