The American Christian Academy Patriots have advanced to the second round of the playoffs via a 41-12 domination of the Williamson Lions. ACA will host Jacksonville next week at home again in the second round.

Williamson, who was coming off of a long bus ride north from Mobile, played an extremely tough first half and made the Patriots offense struggle, with the score just 14-6 at halftime. In the first half, the only kind of offense ACA could generate was with the legs of quarterback Sawyer Deerman, who ran for both scores in the first half.

"They were on the field a lot on offense and our defense had to adjust, then at halftime we re-adjusted and the offense just kept doing what they've been doing all year," said ACA head coach Cody Martin.

For Williamson, their offense ran through Jahkobe Shaw, who ran for 150 yards and both touchdowns for the Lions.

Williamson did a great job of containing ACA's run game throughout the game, limiting both star running backs Christian Davis and Ty Flowers. Flowers ran for a 57-yard score late in the game when the result was already decided, but other than that, ACA did most of their damage through the air.

The main story of the game was the passing connection between Sawyer Deerman and Chance Henderson. Henderson had two 70-yard touchdowns in the second half and added a 12-yard touchdown as well, totaling 172 receiving yards and three scores. Through the air, Deerman threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns. Carson Sute added 70 yards receiving as well.

ACA takes on Jacksonville at home again next week in the second round, who defeated Alabama Christian 42-21 tonight.
