Alabama Athletics Announces an Over 90% Vaccination Rate
The Alabama Crimson Tide has set a standard of excellence across almost all its athletic teams over the last few seasons. The 2020-21 academic year was particularly prosperous for the department with a football national title, five SEC championships and sent multiple sports to the post season.
Alabama head football coach Nick Saban recently announced that his program is one player short of 100% vaccinated. Now Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne has take to Twitter to announce to the public that across all programs the Tide is over 90% vaccinated to begin the 2021-22 year.
The Tide shows its commitment to winning and excellence by achieving a high vaccination rate, showing that the players and coaches don't want to allow COVID-19 to cause a forfeit or derail a season.
The state of Alabama has one of the lowest vaccinated states in the nation and soon the fanbase will descend on Bryant-Denny Stadium, begging the question, should the Alabama athletic department require proof of vaccine or negative test to watch the Tide play?
