Jacksonville State finished the 2021 season with a 26-27 record with a conference record of 16-14 good enough for fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Crimson Tide and Gamecocks actually played one another twice last season, with Alabama emerging victorious in each 5-2 and 7-2.

Reeves was hampered this past season with the Crimson Tide with a hand injury, he hurt himself while sliding and ultimately only appeared in 27 games for Alabama in 2021. Reeves batted .229 this past season and contributed two home runs, eight RBI and one stolen base.

He had a strong 2020 season making 15 starts in a season that the Crimson Tide went 16-1. Reeves contributed 14 hits with six RBI and two stolen bases with a home run.

Perfect Game USA considered Reeves the No. 5 overall prospect in the state of Alabama and the No. 50 outfielder in the 2018 class. Reeves was named Class 6A First Team from the Alabama Sports Writers Association.
