There’s something special about a small business that doesn’t just sell products. It serves people.

The Local Quilt Shop Contest is giving sewists, fabric lovers, quilters, and craft creatives everywhere a chance to show love to their favorite neighborhood shops. Voting opens every year on International Local Quilt Shop Day, which falls on the fourth Saturday in January, and runs through the end of February.

But this isn’t just about winning a contest.

In Alabama, Phyllis Campbell and her son Jacob Ramsey run a quilt shop that’s built on heart. Yes, they ship worldwide. Yes, their work travels far beyond city limits. But their roots stay right here at home in the Yellowhammer State.

It is a honor to know we have the support of our customers and communities supporting us, Phyllis Campbell said.

Her shop has been open since 2024 and this is their first year in the contest. She credits the community as the reason for the shop being in the contest.

Campbell not only runs the shop but gives back to the community that supports the shop.

"Giving back to the community means the world to us. Showing our pride to the community. That making quilts is made from love."

We really show the whole world what great craftsmanship Alabama has to offer in the quilting world!
