Friday, the Jemison Panthers made their way to the Central Falcon’s stadium. Unfortunately, Jemison failed in their efforts on both offense and defense, falling to Central 40-10. Within the first five minutes of the game, Central already had two touchdowns. One from RB Shunkeith Turner and another was an 18-yard pass from quarterback Omarion Mullins to WR Michael Richardson.

Soon after a pass from Jemison was picked off by Richardson which later resulted in another TD for Central at halftime.

Richardson left the game after getting hurt in the second half but will reportedly be ready to play in next week's game.

“He definitely has a lot of athleticism. He has the ability to catch the ball and make plays. We took him out of the game, but we did it for precautionary measures and we should have him back next week," said Central head coach Rodney Bivens.

Falcons fans were able to see some second-string players contribute on the field and keep their dominance in the first half alive.

“We played better. We try to challenge to do more physically and execute their assignments. I think we did a little bit of a better job with that, so anytime you get a chance to win a game and come back and make corrections it’s always a good thing. There’s still a lot of corrections to be made," said Bivens.

This was a big win for the Falcons. Next week Central travels to Sipsey Valley to be able to make it to the playoffs. Central will earn the No. 4 seed in Class 5A Region 3 with a win and make the playoffs for the first time since 2018.

“It’s going to come down to execution. You know, coming down the stretch it’s a playoff atmosphere and we got to do our job more consistently, more so in the red zone and its critical situations like third downs," concluded Bivens.

This upcoming week Falcons’ will go to head-to-head with The Sipsey Valley Bears and The Jemison Panthers will take on The Shelby County Wildcats.
