Curbside Farmers Market This Saturday

If you need fresh fruits and vegetables, the City of Tuscaloosa has your answer.  They are offering a curbside pick-up on Saturday, April 18th, at the Tuscaloosa River Market from 8 am to 11 am.  The Vendors include Belle Meadow Farm, BDA Farm, B&S Farm, Breaking Bread, Lar-Rens Farm, Norris Farm, and Nothin’ Fancy Home Cookin’.  For a full list of what the vendors will be offering, click here.  Please note that you must arrange orders in advance.  Also, you will need to make payments to the vendors directly in advance.  If you can’t make it this Saturday, the next market will be April 25th.

I bet you are asking how will all this work with practicing social distancing.  I was wondering myself.  To receive the advanced purchases, you will need to go to the 21st Avenue entrance of the River Market and go the parking lot adjacent to the River Market.  Then according to the Facebook Event page, you “will be met (at an appropriate social distance) by a River Market staff member. They will ask them from which vendor the customer purchased goods. The staff member will then assign a parking spot to the customer, and the vendor will bring the goods to the customer's vehicle and place the order in the back. Since all products must be pre-ordered and prepaid, no contact will be necessary, and no day-of purchases will be allowed. All vendors and staff will be wearing gloves, using sanitizer, and maintaining the 6-foot distance.”
