DreDay Has Officially Been On 105.1 The Block for One Year!

Today marks one year of me being on 105.1 The Block. Let's go down memory lane.

I remember packing a Uhaul truck preparing to move from Orlando to Tuscaloosa last year. It was all happening so fast and emotions were at an all-time high. I was excited to have my first full-time on-air opportunity. Of course, I was nervous not only because I was moving to another state where I had no friends or family, but my wife was 3 months pregnant and I'd be leaving her behind in Orlando. We decided it would be best for her to stay and give birth at home where we knew the doctors and the hospitals.

Fast-forward to my arrival and it was amazing. I was too excited to be in a new place. Tuscaloosa is very different than Orlando and it was made clear from the moment I arrived. The crazy thing is that I realized more things about Orlando after I left than I ever realized while living there. Remember, Orlando is where I was born and raised. Only when I moved to Tuscaloosa did I learn that Orlando is fast-paced. I didn't this it was because I always looked at New York and Los Angeles as fast-paced not home.

I'm still continuing to learn more about Orlando while I'm here but most of all I'm learning about Alabama. I'm loving being out in the community and helping the youth. That's something that I've always been passionate about. I remember first coming here and finding out how big high school sports are to the community. I made it my duty to go to as many high school football games as I could. Here's some footage from last year's football season with 105.1 The Block.

Thank you, Tuscaloosa for your love, and constant support. I'm thankful to be part of a community that is so caring and loves to have fun! Here's to many more great years together on the radio and in the community!
