Former Alabama Lineman Jedrick Wills Cited For Drag Racing

Jedrick Wills, the 2020 first-round draft pick by the Cleveland Browns, was cited early Tuesday morning for drag racing in Ohio. Along with the Alabama standout, receiver Rashard Higgins was also involved in the incident.

Below is the police camera footage from the traffic stop in the nearby Cleveland suburb.

Drag racing, according to Cleveland.com, is a first-degree misdemeanor, so both of the Browns' players will be left with fines.

Higgins' attorney Kevin Spellacy clarified that the incident will be dealt with in full.

"To me, it’s just an upgraded speeding charge,” Spellacy said. “But for me, I hope he goes out and catches a lot of balls on Sunday.”

Wills went to Twitter to explain his behavior.

In addition to this incident, Wills, according to the same Cleveland.com article, was cited for speeding back in November.

In his rookie season, Wills has played in 15 of Cleveland's 16 games.

During his time at Alabama, the left tackle was a part of a national title-winning team and 38 victories in three seasons.

This incident comes just days before the wild card round of the NFL Playoffs. Wills' Browns are making their first appearance since 2002.
