Free Back-To-School Haircuts For Kids in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
We're right in the middle of back-to-school season in Tuscaloosa and there are so my things students need. School supplies, clothes, and haircuts too.
A Tuscaloosa mentoring program called Mind Changers will be hosting a full weekend of back-to-school events. On August 7th at Freeman Park from 10 am-2 pm they will be giving away free school supplies, free food and more. the fun doesn't stop there. August 8th starting at 8:30p at the Benjamin Barnes YMCA they will host a free movie night.
School supplies is definitely a necessity when it comes to going to school. Looking good is also part of those back-to-school necessities if you ask me. There's something about showing up to school with a fresh haircut. It's like you're starting the new school year off with a new slate.
The Mind Changers will be offering free haircuts for kids in the West Alabama area on August 11th from 8a-5p at the McDonald Hughes Community Center.
I love how so many organizations are coming together to fill a need in the community for back-to-school season. According to their website, the mission of Mind Changers is to motivate, empower, and encourage young men and women through mentoring and various other resources. They challenge them to be positive decision-makers and ultimately help facilitate the process that will shape them into successful and responsible young adults.
If you or someone you know is in need of school supplies, there are plenty of bak to school events happening in the West Alabama area. Click here to see a list of events with free back-to-school giveaways coming up.
