Governor Kay Ivey Called DHR On Woman Due To Her Tik Tok Video??
Could you imagine writing a letter to a public official and they reply by letting you know they've contacted DHR about you?
According to a Tik Tok video, that's exactly what happened to an Alabama woman who wrote a letter to Governor Kay Ivey. The woman posted a video detailing an email she sent to the Governor regarding middle class families and how much they are struggling in Alabama.
"About a month ago I took it upon myself to reach out to our Governor ay Ivey to let her know how the middle class is struggling," the woman on Tik Tok says as she opened the video.
She then read a letter that was sent to her from the office of the governor.
"In this letter, she essentially tells me that DHR, is there and I can put my kid up for foster care, or adoption," the woman said. She continued reading the letter, "Since I reached out to her with concerns of financial well being that she called DHR on me."
In Alabama, DHR offered residents adult protective services, child protective services, family and food assistance, and more.
"I don't qualify for 90% of the programs that you listed, that is point Governor Kay Ivey with no children," the woman said in her Tik Tok video which has been viewed over 248 thousand times, and has more than 29 thousand likes.
How do you think Governor Kay Ivey should handle this situation? Can you relate to this Tik Tok video about the middle class?
