Huh? Study Reveals Alabama is One of America’s Dumbest States
Many people have this idea of what the state of Alabama is nationwide. Unfortunately, Alabama doesn't always prove them wrong.

There are a few factors that reflect negatively on the state of Alabama.
- High crime rates
- High poverty rates
- Severe Weather
- Alcohol Sales (Dry counties)
It looks like there ye yet another reason for people to shine a negative light on the state of Alabama as it's just been revealed that the state isn't doing well when it comes to education.
But is this really a surprise??
According to Travel Safe Abroad, US News ranked Alabama’s public education 47th out of the 50 states, and it is often ranked in the bottom five.
The good news is, that Alabama didn't rank in the bottom five of this study.
The bad news is, Alabama ranked in the bottom 6th.
According to a study done by Wallet Hub, the state of Alabama is the 6th least educated state in the nation. Alabama is ranked behind West Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
To determine the most secure states, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 52 key metrics. The data set ranges from assaults per capita to the total loss amount from climate disasters per capita to the unemployment rate and percentage of High-School Diploma Holders
Below are some of Alabama's rankings compared to the rest of the nation.
43rd – % of High-School Diploma Holders
44th – % of Associate's Degree Holders or College-Experienced Adults
44th – % of Bachelor’s Degree Holders
39th – % of Graduate- or Professional-Degree Holders
39th – Avg. University Quality
16th – Racial Gap in Educational Attainment
