Alabama Baseball Offense Rebounds in Rout of the Rams
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama's offensive woes seem to be rendered old news as the Tide whirled past the University of Rhode Island in a 19-4 rout. The Tide put the pedal to the metal and never let off, scoring runs in five straight innings, ultimately leading to a run rule at the bottom of the 7th. Following a 2-1 victory over Alabama State on Wednesday, Alabama has seemed to overcome whatever struggles they had and looks to continue the success over the weekend after Friday's explosive output.

The Tide started the game off strong with a 417-foot homerun to centerfield by superstar junior shortstop Justin Lebron in the bottom of the first inning. The Crimson Tide went off in the bottom of the second, scoring eight runs, capped by homeruns from catcher Bradley Neal, third basemen Jason Torres, and right fielder Justin Osterhouse.
Head coach Rob Vaughn showed no signs of slowing down, cycling through players and digging deep as the Tide silenced the doubters. Shortstop Justin Lebron capped off his night with two home runs, five RBIs, and three runs as he continued his impressive start to the season for the Tide. In his post-game press conference, Vaughn said, "It's good to see the relentlessness of this team."
The Rams did not go away quietly, scoring three runs in the top of the 5th off a Reece Moroney homerun. However, that would not be enough to lead Rhode Island back into the game as the Tide looks to roll on with game two of the series starting at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 21st.
