One calendar year later, Nick Saban made history again, and he did nothing extra compared to last season. On College Gameday, ahead of the College Football Semifinal between Ohio State and Texas, the Gameday hosts announced to Nick Saban, and the world, that the former national champion winning head coach at LSU and Alabama will be enshrined in college football history and being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2025.

Nick Saban is regarded as the best head coach in college football history, winning seven national championships, the most out of any head coach in college football history, with one coming in 2003 with the LSU Tigers and six coming with the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, and 2020. Saban also won nine SEC championships at Alabama and 11 overall during his time in college football, accumulating a career win/loss record of 297-71-1, including a 206-29 record while at Alabama.

Saban also had four Heisman winners during his time as a head coach, with all four coming at Alabama - Mark Ingram II, Derrick Henry, DeVonta Smith, and Bryce Young. Saban was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.

Saban is the fifth Alabama head coach to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and the 27th overall inductee from the University of Alabama. He was a nine-time National Coach of the Year, coaching for 28 seasons overall in college football.

Saban also developed talent at a higher clip than anyone else, coaching 52 first-round draft picks in his career, including 47 at Alabama. Saban had 133 players drafted into the NFL during his time as Alabama's head coach.

The 2025 class will be inducted during the 67th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on December 9, 2025, at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Their accomplishments will be on display at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia.
