Stillman Hoops Earns Big Home Wins
Six-straight wins are in the book for Stillman College men’s basketball. The latest was a 93-73 victory over Thomas University to complete a Southern States Athletic Conference sweep of the Nighthawks Thursday.

Bailey Talley scored a career-high 35 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in 36 minutes of action. He hit five 3-pointers, but also 20 points inside, including several dunks.
It was a game of runs early. Stillman jumped out to a 15-2 lead in the first four minutes. Thomas answered with a 16-2 run of its own to take its first lead, 18-18, on a Keon Williams 3-pointer. The Nighthawks stretched their lead to 35-25 with 5:25 to play in the first half.
That’s when Talley went to work, hitting a 3 with 5:11 to play to spark a 23-0 run to the halftime buzzer. He scored 10 points in the final five minutes of the half, including a layup with 42 seconds left to extend Stillman’s halftime lead to 48-35. Jamar Jackson, Antonio Jones and Brenden Lankford-Johnson each chipped in during the Tigers’ run.
A Talley dunk with 13 minutes to play in the game pushed Stillman’s lead past 20 points, 70-49. Another Talley dunk, fed by Marcus Bates, Jr., with 10:21 to play pushed the Tigers’ lead to 26 points, 77-51. The largest lead was 31 points on a Talley jumper with 5:10 play.
Stillman shot 55.2% from the floor and out-rebounded Thomas, 41-26.
Jackson joined Talley in double digits with 19 points, and Lankford-Johnson finished with 18 points. Justin Minter dished out eight assists.
Stillman (16-7, 13-3 SSAC) remains second in the SSAC with four games to play. The Tigers will travel to Dalton State on Feb. 14 before hosting Life University on Homecoming, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m.
Also on Thursday, Stillman College women’s basketball extended its home win streak to five games Thursday night with a 75-39 victory over Thomas University in Southern States Athletic Conference play.
