A small, unincorporated community in Elmore County. Its name's origin is uncertain but is believed to stem from the phrase "slap out of everything." This rural area features a close-knit community, local stores, and the Slapout Volunteer Fire Department. Situated near Lake Martin, Slapout offers a peaceful Southern lifestyle away from city life.

Normal, Alabama

A small town located in Madison County. It is home to Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (AAMU), a historically black university. The town derives its name from the university's original purpose of providing education that was "normal" or standard for African Americans at the time. Normal offers a vibrant community centered around the university campus.
