One of the largest restaurants in Tuscaloosa's Midtown Village shopping center will permanently close this week after about three years in business.

The Thread was the first to break the news that Buffalo's Cafe would take over the former home of the Iguana Grill. After a brief spell as takeout-only, the chicken wing joint officially opened in September 2021.

Last week, two readers submitted tips that Buffalo's would soon close permanently, and employees have confirmed the store will open for the last time this Wednesday, July 3rd, before shutting the doors for good.

The restaurant is one of Midtown's largest, only matched or exceeded in size by the Jucy Crab, Chuck E. Cheese and Longhorn Steakhouse.

Midtown Village is the city's largest outdoor shopping center and features space for almost 80 restaurants and retailers. It opened in 2007, was acquired in 2021 by real estate investors and is now managed by Crawford Square Real Estate Advisors.

This article follows a tip from a pair of readers about the restaurant's imminent closure. If you see something in West Alabama that needs investigating or reporting, you can always submit a news tip to the Thread here.
