The Philadelphia Eagles wrapped up their final day of training camp of Tuesday. Jalen Hurts dazzled on the practice field, going 14-of-20 for five touchdowns. On one of his touchdowns, he connected with new target AJ Brown down the right sideline from 40 yards out for a touchdown between two defenders. Wide receiver Zach Pascal praised Hurts’ improved accuracy during his presser.

“Since I got here, his deep ball accuracy has been amazing,” Pascal said. “A lot of his throws have been accurate. I’ve seen him getting better every day. And the work ethic he puts into that, it just trickles down to the whole team and everyone else putting in work.”

This performance comes fresh off a spectacular outing in the Eagles preseason opener against the Jets. Hurts went 6-of-6 for 80 yards and a touchdown in his only drive. Head coach Nick Sirianni was complimentary of his quarterback after the game.

"I thought he was great," Sirianni said. "He made plays in the pocket when he needed to make plays in the pocket and when he needed to escape, he escaped. I think it's interesting; I think it's also to be known that leaving the pocket isn't just something that you see when the protection breaks down. I think that people think like, oh, we left the pocket early, and the protection was good. Well, sometimes nobody is open. And sometimes the defense calls a good play and it's not a good look in the coverage.

"So, it's not as easy to say that the protection broke down, so he left, because that's obvious. I think the thing that is not as obvious is, again, what I said, somebody slipped on a route out or the defense played a good coverage and there wasn't anybody open and he's trying to create with a scramble. I thought he did a great job of that. I thought he played a good football game, first drive, and we'll just look to build on that."

The 24-year-old signal caller continues to progress every season, just as he has throughout his football career. Hurts drastically improved as passer during his time in college, he went from completing 61.9-percent of his passes as a freshman and sophomore, to completing 70.2-percent of his passes as a junior and senior.

The third-year quarterback has looked more comfortable in the Eagles offense. He spent the offseason working on his mechanics and it has showed throughout training camp.
