According to a social media post on the firm's own Instagram account, Alabama senior shooting guard Keon Ellis has agreed to terms with an agent and is signing to EZ Sports as he plans to play professionally going forward.

In his senior season at Alabama, Ellis was the Tide's only season-long starter and he averaged 30.9 minutes per game while earning a spot on the 2021-2022 SEC All-Defensive team. He recorded two double-doubles in his final season and recorded a career-high of 28 points against fifth-ranked Kentucky in February.

He led the conference in free-throw percentage (88%) and was Alabama's team leader in both steals (64) and total rebounds (201).

Ellis transferred to Alabama from a junior college in his home state of Florida as the No. 4 JUCO player in the country in 2020. He played two seasons in Fort Myers at Florida SouthWestern State College and was rated as a three-star JUCO prospect by 247Sports as the first-ranked combo guard in the country.

With four entering the NCAA transfer portal, forward James Rojas graduating and both Ellis and guard Jaden Shackelford deciding to go pro, that now marks Alabama's seventh scheduled departure from the underperforming 2021-2022 team. Freshman guard J. D. Davison has yet to make a decision but would be the eighth player to leave the program if recent reports are correct and he does decide to move on.

Junior guard Jahvon Quinerly initially stated his intentions following a major injury ending his season short in Alabama's opening-round loss in the 2022 NCAA tournament; however, he at least seems to have reconsidered the decision with some time as recent reporting has him still weighing his options.

If he were to be selected, Keon Ellis is expected to go in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft on June 23. Those who go undrafted – like recent Alabama alums G John Petty Jr. and C Donta Hall – become unrestricted free agents and have the ability to try out for and sign with any team that picks up their contract.

John Petty signed with the New Orleans Pelicans a few months after going unselected in the 2021 NBA Draft. He made solid contributions with their G League affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron, and got to play in front of fans in his home state just an hour away from his alma mater.

Hall has made appearances with three NBA franchises since 2019 and was selected to the G League All-Rookie and All-Defensive team in 2020. His last stop in the NBA was with the Orlando Magic towards the end of a tough season for the franchise in 2021. Since August of 2021, Hall has spent time in France with A. S. Monaco Basket competing in LNB Pro A and the EuroLeague.
