Comedian LP Crowned Alabama’s Funniest Person

Put some respect on his name. Comedian LP is officially Alabama’s Funniest Person.

Comedian LP took home the title after competing in the 2026 Alabama’s Funniest Person competition at the Stardome, which began with more than 150 aspiring comedians fighting for a spot at the top.

LP eventually became one of eight comedians to advance to the finals at the Stardome before walking away as the winner.

“It’s a blessing, man. It’s a blessing,” LP said following the victory. “Over 150 comics competed. I made it to the final. I won. Put some respect on my name.”

Known as the “4-Foot Giant,” LP has built his comedy career around his personality, life experiences and ability to turn his perspective into laughs. He is also the co-host of The Big Dawg DreDay Show in the Morning on 105.1 The Block.

While LP describes himself as a humble person, he said he plans to enjoy this particular accomplishment.

“Right now, I’m sitting in it. I won.” LP said. “Thank you, God. Thank you to all my supporters that have been there from day one and continue to support me.”

He also dedicated the victory to his mother and everyone who has supported his journey.

Winning the Alabama title isn't the finish line. LP said he plans to invest his winnings back into his brand and use the victory as another step toward taking his comedy career to a larger stage.

“You can’t be complacent where you are,” LP said. “Growth is growth for a reason. You have to grow. You have to expand.”

And after proving himself against some of Alabama’s funniest comics, LP already has his sights set beyond the state.

“I’m Alabama’s funniest comedian. Now I need to be the world’s funniest comedian,” LP said. “Be on the lookout because I’m definitely going to be on your TV soon. It’s only up from here.”
