Mark Ingram Mocks Georgia’s Title, “Their Head Coach Came from Bama”

Former Crimson Tide running back Mark Ingram has never been short of words when it comes to how much he loves his alma mater. While everyone bleeds red, Ingram bleeds Crimson, and in an recent appearance in a Twitter space, the running back proved just that.

Ingram was asked about his feelings regarding the notion that Kirby Smart and Georgia have begun to dismantle what Nick Saban built at Alabama, and responded as anyone would expect him to, mocking Bulldog fans and putting them in their rightful place.

"Listen here man, when they've got it proven over a decade plus, come talk to me. When they got 18 national championships, come talk to me. When they got six in the last twelve years, come talk to me," Ingram said, garnering some support from his fellow Bama alums in the Twitter space.

"The only reason they even have a national championship is purely because their head coach came from Bama, so really they should be thanking Bama. Roll Tide. That's how we do it," Ingram said, emphatically.

Ingram was a member of Saban's first and arguably most important national title team at Alabama, kicking off what would become a decade plus of sheer dominance. As a part of the legendary 2008 recruiting class that featured the likes of Julio Jones, Dont'a Hightower, Marcell Dareus and more, Ingram helped define what would become the Alabama that fans know and love today.

After an illustrious career in Crimson that included a Heisman Trophy and SEC Offensive Player of the Year as well as both All-American and All-SEC honors, Ingram was selected 28th overall by the New Orleans Saints in 2011.

The Flint, MI native spent eight seasons with the Saints, and is the franchise leader in rushing touchdowns with 51. After leaving New Orleans, Ingram's career saw a brief resurgence in Baltimore for a few seasons, but in 2021 he was waived by the Ravens.

The Houston Texans signed the former Heisman winner to a one-year deal before eventually trading him back to the Saints for a seventh-round pick halfway through the season.

Though no longer the feature back in New Orleans, Ingram is still expected to have a role within the offense this season behind Alvin Kamara and will provide an excellent veteran presence.
