Overturned Tanker Causing Lane Blockage On Interstate 20/59
West Alabama drivers are being advised to avoid this area of Interstate 20/59 for the foreseeable future, due to an overturned vehicle.
According to Corporal Reginal King with the Alabama State Troopers, A two-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle that occurred at approximately 10:53 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, has caused a lane closure.
The southbound lanes of Interstate 59 near the 39 mile marker, in Greene County are now blocked and will be for an undetermined amount of time. Traffic is being detoured onto U.S. 11 at exit 40 and back onto Interstate 59 at exit 32.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are on scene investigating and will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly.
