The Pickens County School District announced that it will be closing Gordo Elementary and Gordo High School due to an influx of positive COVID-19 tests and exposures.

According to a Monday afternoon Facebook post, effective Oct. 26 at the end of the day, all students will transition to virtual learning, where they will sign into Schoology to complete their assignments.

The district announced that students in kindergarten through 12th grade will return to staggered schedules starting on Nov. 9.

Students can still pick up meals starting tomorrow, Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. for the remainder of the week. On Oct. 28, meals can be picked up for the week of Nov. 2-6.
