2022 is already looking like a special year in Alabama. Not even a week into the new year and Alabamians got to enjoy the snow!

Weather in Alabama can be a tricky subject. The unpredictability of tornadoes, the dreadful summer heat, and the frigid temperatures can throw you for a loop. We ended 2021 with several severe weather threats and even saw a few tornadoes.

Who knew that right around the corner from a tornado threat, we’d see snow!

Parts of Alabama saw temperatures upwards of 83 degrees literally the day before the snow fell from the sky. Talk about a quick change of events. This has to be something that only happens in Alabama.

James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist posted an unbelievable video on his Instagram page. The snowfall in Huntsville was unreal!
