Confirmed cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus in Alabama rose to 106 Friday afternoon, according to new figures from the Alabama Department of Public Health. There are still just 4 confirmed cases in Tuscaloosa County.

The plurality of cases in Alabama are in Jefferson County, where 50 people are confirmed to have the virus. Lee County is a distance second with 11 cases, and Shelby County has 10.

In other West Alabama news, Lamar County had its first case of the disease confirmed in the Friday afternoon report.
