Stillman Men's Basketball Team Named National Champions
Can I be honest? I can't get enough of good news about Stillman College especially the sports teams. National champs?! WOW!
A huge congratulations go out to the Stillman College Men's Basketball Team. According to an official press release, they've been recently names the 2021 Black College Sports Network Small Schools Co-National Champion for HBCU programs.
This is a huge honor for the players of course as well as head coach John Teasley, who is in his fourth season as Head Coach. "I believe Stillman College is one of the best HBCUs in the country, and its' an honor we get to represent them as we play across the country. It's an unbelievable feeling to be named the top small college HBCU. There are so many great HBCU programs out there, this is a really big honor," Teasley said.
Coach Teasley is also the NAIA coach of the year as selected by the Black College Sports Network.
Stillman's Men's basketball team has racked up the accolades this season. With two players, Trey Petty, and Devin Merriweather both making the All American first team for the NAIA. Stillman also had a player selected as a second-team All-American, Ladarius Carter.
I want to send a huge shoutout to Stillman College's Men's basketball squad. I know this season hasn't been the easiest, but you have shined so brightly through it all. I can't wait to see what the future holds for the team and the young men as individuals.
