Stillman's Kelvin Reese HBCU All Star Game MVP

It's a great year for sports in the state of Alabama. Stillman College's Kelvin Reese earns HBCU All-Star Game MVP Title.

The HBCU All-Star game happened for the first time this year and was hosted by Minority Baseball Prospects. According to their site, the goal of this game is to provide a platform to top-level talent coming out of Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and recognize the tremendous work of the coaches who mold, develop, and support these players.

The players definitely made the most of the opportunity to showcase their talent. One player in particular from Stillman College happened to steal the show as the star on offense. Kelvin Reese of Stillman College earns the title of the game's Most Valuable Player (non-pitcher) by Black College Sports Network.

According to an official press release from Stillman College Athletics, Reese spoke on his accomplishment at the HBCU All-Star Game.
"It felt so surreal to be out here and to be able to perform to the best of my abilities and go out and get in it," Reese said. "It's been amazing. Being out here with these guys, being able to be on the field, it's a blessing. To God the glory. Thank God for everything. Without Him, I wouldn't be able to do this."

In addition to the All-Star Game, Reese participated in a combine and youth clinic Monday, June 7, as well as tour the Birmingham Negro Southern League Museum at Regions Field.

I love to see the hard work from the student-athletes pay off. No one ever sees the long hours of training it takes to be able to earn these achievements. Congratulations to Kelvin Reese for his MVP award.
