What brings you joy? In the middle of a worldwide pandemic, racial injustice, and plenty of protests happening all around the world, it's easy to find ourselves in constant disagreement with one another. Many Americans are out of work,  trying to balance financial obligations, attempting to explain to their children what's currently happening in America all while trying to practice self-care. It can be hard to do and remain positive or outright happy.

According to PRNewswire, a recent study showed that 90% of Americans agreed that the world needs more joy. This is definitely a study that I agree with 1,000%. Daily or at least 3 times a week I try to do an activity that brings me joy. I may not have hours during the day for these activities, but sometimes a good 30 minutes is all you need. Hey, it's better than nothing. Working out always makes me feel better and helps me to relieve stress. Playing with my 4-month-old son will always bring a smile to my face. Don't judge me, but playing Madden on my PS4 is a guilty pleasure of mine that brings me joy. 61% of people surveyed said that family dinners brought them the most joy.  Time spent outside was the runner up for the top answer, and the third was watching a favorite movie or TV show at 58%. There is no doubt that COVID-19 has changed things that bring people joy. The survey showed that with more time on their hands, Americans liked to talk walks and read to bring themselves joy.

As we approach the second half of 2020, let's hope we can not only bring more joy to our own lives individually but bring joy to others' lives as well.
