A recent threat posted online involving Holt High School resulted in a student being investigated.
Dr. Keri Johnson, the Superintendent of the Tuscaloosa County School System released a statement about the recent events.

"This morning, we received information about a threatening comment posted online by a student," the statement read.

"The student believed to be responsible for posting the threat has been secured, and law enforcement is already investigating. Privacy laws prevent us from discussing specifics of student discipline, but please know any student who makes comments regarding the safety of our students or school faces consequences under our student code of conduct."

According to the Superintendent's statement, the threat was reported quickly and allowed for further actions to be taken.

"It doesn't matter if a comment is intended to be a joke. There are no jokes when it comes to keeping our students safe, and the consequences for this behavior are real.

We also want to thank the individuals who came forward quickly to report what they had seen online. Instead of spreading the information, they reported it immediately. We are so thankful when anyone speaks up about a safety concern involving our students or schools. That is one of the most important ways you can help keep our students and schools safe. If you ever believe there may be a threat to school or student safety, do not repost the information online. Alerting law enforcement or a school administrator immediately is what you should do.
