Tuscaloosa, Alabama Sorority Hosts a Table Talk Focused on Mental Health
Recognizing mental health is very important. I think we can all agree that the past 18 months have come with their own unique set of challenges. I’ll admit, I’ve had my ups and downs throughout the pandemic. At times, it has been very hard to navigate.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that mental health includes “emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices.”
It’s always great to discuss the importance of mental health in the community. That’s why a Tuscaloosa sorority is starting the discussion. The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Eta Xi Omega Chapter hosts a virtual Pink Table Talk titled “Are You Okay, Sis?: Mental Health Matters.”
This free community event includes amazing panelists like Dr. Beverly Bell- Shambley, Dr. Takesha Shannon, and Dr. Octavia Ingram. It will be held on zoom on Thursday, September 23rd at 6:00 p.m. The sorority is looking forward to this much-needed community event!
