Rescheduled H.E.R. Show at Tuscaloosa Amphitheater Now Permanently Canceled
A show that would have brought the Grammy Award-winning multi-instrumentalist H.E.R. to the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater this summer has been permanently canceled, the Tuscaloosa Thread has learned.
The wildly successful R&B singer-songwriter announced her 'Back of my Mind' Tour in February, including a night at the Amp that was originally scheduled for Thursday June 16th.
Kay Day, the city of Tuscaloosa's Venues Operations Manager, told the Thread the show was rescheduled once and was meant to take place a few days later than originally expected, on Tuesday, June 21st.
Now, though, the show has been called off entirely.
Day said concert promoters told the city the cancellation was necessary because of a scheduling conflict.
Refunds are now available for anyone who bought tickets to the show, Day said. Anyone who bought online using Ticketmaster can expect a refund within 30 days, she said.
Anyone who purchased tickets at the Amphitheater's box office will need to bring the tickets and the card used to purchase them back to the building to process their refund. Day said the box office is open every week day from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The H.E.R. concert cancellation comes about a month after island escapist singer-songerwriter Jimmy Buffett called off his Amphitheater appearance, which was also scheduled to take place in June.
The Amphitheater still has plenty to offer fans this season, though, including shows from Willie Nelson, Mirana Lambert and the Avett Brothers later this month.
