Tuscaloosa’s Fourth of July Celebration Returns To Amphitheater

The city's annual Fourth of July Celebration will return to the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater next month, city officials announced Wednesday.

Municipal staff shared the good news in a press release, saying the fireworks show and live music performance will take place on Independence Day from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

The holiday falls on a Monday this year.

According to the city, the kids' zone will open inside the Amphitheater at 6, with games and activities for all ages. DJ Tank will be on site performing from 6 until 7:50, and the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra will begin their show a few minutes later.

The fireworks show is set to start a 9 p.m. following brief comments from Mayor Walt Maddox.

“After a successful return of Celebration on the River last year, I am thrilled to bring back the celebration of such an important day,” Mayor Maddox says.

Parking near the Amphitheater is still an issue as work continues to transform the area with the addition of the Saban Center, River District Park and roadway improvements on Jack Warner Parkway and other thoroughfares in the area.

The city suggested attendees for the Celebration should park in the Intermodal Facility parking deck on 23rd Avenue downtown and either walk or take a shuttle to the Amp.

Accessible parking will be available onsite at the Amphitheater's box office parking lot.
