The Tuscaloosa Police Department is taking steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In accordance with CDC and Alabama Department of Public Health regulations on COVID-19, the Tuscaloosa Police Department will close its east, west, and downtown precincts to the public until further notice. Headquarters will remain open to the public.

The Police Department will remain fully operational during this time. The closing of these precincts to the public will aid in limiting officers' potential exposure to COVID-19, as well as increase the number of officers on patrol by limiting the number of desk personnel needed.

Residents who need to file a report at one of these precincts can call 205-349-2121, and a police officer will meet them in the parking lot. As usual, any resident with an emergency should call 911.
