Stillman’s Webster Earns National Coaching Honor
Stillman College Baseball continues to gain national attention, and now its head coach is being recognized on one of the sport's biggest stages.
Stillman College announced that Head Baseball Coach Rashad Webster has been selected as a head coach for the 2026 Negro League Prep Classic, which will take place on Juneteenth at historic Hamtramck Stadium in Hamtramck, Michigan.
Webster will serve as the head coach of Team Ron Teasley, helping guide some of the nation's top high school baseball talent while honoring the rich legacy of Negro League baseball.
"This is an outstanding opportunity for these young men to showcase their talents in front of collegiate and professional coaches," Webster said. He added that being part of an event celebrating Black excellence on Juneteenth makes the opportunity even more meaningful.

The selection comes on the heels of Webster's first season leading the Tigers. Under his leadership, Stillman finished 24-18 overall and 14-6 in conference play, earning an HBCUAC East Division runner-up finish. The Tigers also became one of the top offensive teams in the NAIA, posting a .343 team batting average that ranked among the nation's best.
Webster has quickly become a respected figure beyond Tuscaloosa. Last month, he served as head coach of the HBCU Athletic Conference team during the Minority Prospects HBCU Final College Showdown in Montgomery.
Stillman Athletic Director Terrance Whittle said Webster's selection reflects the respect he has earned throughout the baseball community and highlights the work being done within the Tigers program.
The Negro League Prep Classic will bring together elite high school athletes, college coaches, former professional players and baseball leaders from across the country. The event will be held at Hamtramck Stadium, a historic Negro Leagues venue that once served as home to the Detroit Stars and Detroit Wolves and remains an important landmark in African American baseball history.
For Webster, the opportunity is another chance to expand the reach of Stillman Baseball while helping the next generation of players take the next step in their careers.
