According to his announcement on Thursday, Thompson High School's 5-Star EDGE Jeremiah Alexander ('22) has committed to continue his education and athletic career at The University of Alabama.

For the class of 2022, Alexander is listed at No. 11 in ESPN's Top 300 recruiting rankings and was named as the No. 1 recruit in the state of Alabama as well as the Southeast region. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, the 6-foot-2 passrusher from Alabaster, Alabama, is recorded as the No. 1 recruit at EDGE in the country.

Alexander received offers from seven SEC schools and a total of 15 power-5 offers before recently narrowing his list down to Alabama, Clemson, and Georgia.

The 5-star actually made his first choice in March of 2020 and, at the time, became Alabama's first signing for the 2022 recruiting class. However, he decided to decommit after receiving more options and because his main recruiter at Alabama, coach Karl Scott, left for a position with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Alabaster native is the third 5-star commit for Nick Saban's 2022 recruiting class, including QB Ty Simpson and RB Emmanuel Henderson. With the addition of Alexander, Alabama's upcoming recruiting class now sits at 10 commitments and already three commits for the defensive line.

On Nick Saban's coaching staff, the recruiters of record that kept Alexander in Alabama include defensive line coach Freddie Roach (primary) and outside linebacker coach Sal Sunseri (secondary).

Before commiting to the Tide, Alexander helped the Thompson Warriors make it to three consecutive ASHAA State Championship games, winning the most recent pair as they went undefeated in 2020. Since Alexander's freshman season, the Warriors have only given up two losses (regular or post-season) and they're currently on a winning streak which started in November of 2019.
