The Alabama Christian Academy (ACA) Patriots (4-1) put up a dominant performance for its homecoming game and defeated the Hale County Wildcats (2-3) 41-26 on Friday night, claiming its fourth straight win of the season.

"It's always important to win homecoming," said ACA head coach Cody Martin. "A lot of people coming back, they want to see us do well so yeah, it's pretty cool."

While the two possession final score may make the game seem somewhat close, ACA had complete control over the game, scoring all 41 of their points before Hale County scored a single point.

The Patriots' took control of the game from the first play, when the Wildcats fumbled the ball on the snap and ACA's Cooper Dempsey recovered it. Just three plays later, senior quarterback Carson Sute completed a 16-yard pass to senior wide receiver Chance Henderson for the touchdown.

ACA's quick touchdown would actually be the only scoring to happen in the first quarter, with the teams trading possession six more times before the quarter ended. On the last switching of possession, Hale County got the ball back in a wild play that involved them getting an interception, then fumbling the ball, and finally recovering their own fumble all on an untimed down to end the quarter.

After the Patriots received the ball back from the Wildcats via punt, they immediately punched it in for a touchdown on the next play, courtesy of an 81-yard run by senior running back Kolby Preskitt.

ACA scored a touchdown on its ensuing possession as well, by way of Sute passing it to sophomore wide receiver Eric Hines for the 29-yard score.

The Patriots weren't done scoring in the second quarter yet though, as on their next possession junior wide receiver Davis Dare ran the punt back to the Wildcats three yard line. Sute capitalized off of the great field position by passing his third touchdown of the game to sophomore wide receiver Cade Durrett to make the score 28-0.

ACA began the second half much like they ended the first half, with a quick touchdown. Only a minute and 10 seconds into the third quarter, Sute passed his fourth touchdown to Henderson, who caught his second touchdown of the game, for 17 yards. A missed point after attempt brought the score to 34-0.

After a series of punts by both teams, the Wildcats looked to have its first touchdown after a 66-yard pass that resulted in a score, but was called back due to an ineligible receiver downfield penalty. A couple plays later, Hale County tried another deep shot downfield, but was intercepted this time.

ACA's Preskitt immediately made Hale County pay for their interception by rushing for a 69-yard touchdown on the very next play, wrapping up the Patriots' scoring at 41 points.

The Wildcats didn't score its first points until 10:58 in the fourth quarter, courtesy of a 22-yard pass from quarterback Antwon Zinnerman to Jay Brown.

Brown also ended up being responsible for Hale County's second touchdown, with an 8-yard rush to the endzone on the team's next possession. A missed point after attempt brought the score to 41-13.

The Wildcats kept the scoring streak going after getting the ball back and scoring on its third straight possession, this time by way of a 5-yard rushing touchdown by Omád Witherspoon.

Zinnerman got back involved for the Wildcats last touchdown on the night with a 17-yard pass to Ladānian Parker with 47 seconds left. Another missed point after attempt resulted in score being 41-26.

ACA will look to get its fifth straight win of the season next week at home against Northridge.

Hale County will have a bye next week, then will look to bounce back from its lost at home against Bibb County in two weeks.
