Alabama’s A-Day spring football game took place in Bryant Denny Stadium last Saturday and the crowd did not disappoint. The university set a maximum capacity of 50% for A-Day in Bryant Denny which can hold 101,821 people. The game brought in 47,218 fans which is the largest crowd at a sporting event since the start of Covid-19 according to Yahoo! Sports. Only a few thousand seats remained open. This year the University of Alabama charged $5 per ticket opposed to a normally free ticketing event.

According to ESPN PR, the A-Day spring game also raked in 547,000 viewers. This makes the game the most-viewed college football spring game on ESPN since 2016 and third most-viewed since 2010. The 2019 Alabama A-Day Spring Game was aired on ESPN2. Figures show that this years A-Day audience was up +96% compared to that 2019 game.

Twitter users were quick to point out that ESPN cut the game with six minutes left in the 4th quarter. Instead, ESPN switched over to Kirk Herbstreit's new show, QB21 with Kirk Herbstreit. Fans were told the A-Day game would be moved to the ESPN app and ESPN3 to watch the remainder of the game.
