Alabama Inmates Killed By Car While Working On Road Crew
Unfortunate news as AP is reporting Alabama inmates have passed away after being struck by a car while on a work crew.
According to AP News, two Alabama inmates Ronnie Steven Cornelius, 30, and Colt Eugene Morris, 40, were struck by a vehicle while working on an ALDOT road crew in Marion County.
AP news reports that in a press release, the Alabama Department of Corrections said "ADOC would like to express its deepest condolences to the families of these two men who were killed in this tragic accident."
Currently, the incident is under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
There are limited details about this incident being released but we do know that the men were wearing reflective vets and "safety policies were being followed when the crash occurred," according to AP News.
The incident occurred on Highway 278.
